Cocktail History
The Stormy Weather is simple yet flavorful and can be described as having a tropical feel. Wine… Rum… Ginger… and Agave? It’s all over the place and like a storm, it sounds like a violent disturbance of an atmosphere (aka your stomach). However, if created right (since you are an expert mixologist by now) the fruit and rum dominate this drink with their tasty flavors. Add a hint of wine and bitters as a nice structure to the drink. The Stormy Weather is something you won’t forget anytime soon!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Dark or Aged Rum
- 1 1/2 oz Shiraz or Cabernet Shiraz blend
- 1/2 oz Freshly Squeezed lime juice
- 1/4 oz Agave Nectar
- 1 dash Angostura bitters (optional)
- Ginger Beer
Cocktail Preparation
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the rum, shiraz or cabernet shiraz blend, lime juice, agave nectar, and bitters, if desired. Shake well, then strain into an ice-filled Collins glass. Top off with ginger beer.
