Tequila Sour

Tequila Sour

Quick Facts

Cocktail History

The tequila sour is a delightfully refreshing sweet-tart drink with a frothy foam topping! It’s a mashup of a 1920s sour cocktail with a margarita. So, if you love yourself a margarita then you’ll love this cocktail – it even looks like your drinking a classic margarita. The lime juice and simple syrup won’t come as a surprise, but the egg white needed to make a proper Tequila Sour just might.

  • 2 oz. Tequila
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1/2 oz Egg White

Cocktail Preparation

Place all ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake for 15 seconds without ice. Add ice to the cocktail shaker and shake again for 30 seconds. Strain into a glass and garnish. It’s classic to garnish a sour with a cocktail cherry: though it’s not required, we like doing if for a little flair.
