Bourbon Manhattan

Manhattan

Quick Facts

Cocktail History

The Bourbon Manhattan cocktail has been enjoyed by party-goers, celebrities, and politicians alike since the 1800s. Initially served at the luxurious Manhattan Club in New York City, this classic drink has even been sipped by notable figures such as former President Ulysses S. Grant and Mark Twain. Interestingly enough, Prohibition resulted in an uptick of Bourbon Manhattans due to bourbon being cheaper to produce than gin – making it an accessible option for revelers of the time! As popular today as it was centuries ago, this cocktail is a classic favorite that never fails to deliver.
