Paper Plane

Paper Plane

Quick Facts

Cocktail History

The Paper Plane was developed around 2007 by Sasha Petraske, founder of the New York City cocktail bar Milk & Honey, and Aussie bartender Sam Ross for their former colleague Toby Maloney’s Chicago bar The Violet Hour. The recipe is a riff on the classic Last Word. The cocktail’s name is supposedly a reference to the M.I.A. track “Paper Planes,” which was apparently a guilty pleasure of Petraske’s.

Cocktail Preparation

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds or until chilled and strain into a coupe glass. Garnish the rim with an orange peel.
