London Mule

Quick Facts

Cocktail History

London’s history of the London mule cocktail all began when the drink, made from London dry gin, lime juice and ginger beer, first appeared in London in the 1940s. As its popularity grew, bartenders began to experiment with a variety of ingredients such as ginger ale or vodka to create an even more flavorful concoction. As people eagerly tasted this delightful little libation, London mules started developing a reputation for being a tad too strong for some – hence the humorous phrase ‘One London Mule will get you home!’ This has remained true to this day; enjoyed throughout London by thirsty revellers, the London Mule stands out among the world’s most famous cocktails as its unique combination of sweet and tangy flavour make it truly unforgettable!
