Kamikaze
Cocktail History
The word Kamikaze is a Japanese word that means “divine wind.” The Kamikaze shot first appeared in 1976 and may have been the original “shooter” cocktail. The Kamikaze drink was created by Richard Stein, who was the owner of Richard’s Lounge in Lakewood, New Jersey. It is typically made of equal parts of vodka, triple sec, and lime juice.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- 1 oz Triple Sec
- Garnish: Lime Wedge
Cocktail Preparation
Gather all the ingredients and add to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake for 20-30 seconds or until chilled and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
