Hemingway Special
Cocktail History
The Hemingway Special is named after, no other than, Ernest Hemingway the famous American journalist, novelist, short-story writer, and sportsman. While spending time in Cuba, Hemingway often enjoyed spending time at a historic fish restaurant called El Floridita. He tried the Floridita’s signature drink, the Floridita Daiquiri, and said “That’s good but I prefer it without sugar and double rum,” and so the Hemingway Special was born.
