Made with Irish whiskey instead of rye or bourbon, the Emerald Cocktail is an elegant sidestep from the classic Manhattan (aka the Irish Manhattan). Despite the bitters adding to the inherent spice in Irish whiskey, it’s a very smooth and approachable drink that reflects the Irish experience.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 oz Irish Whiskey
- 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
- 2 dashes of Orange Bitters
- 1 dash of Angostura Bitters
- Garnish: Orange Peel
PREPARATION
Stir the whiskey, vermouth, and bitters in a cocktail shaker ice for 20-30 seconds or until chilled. Then strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with an orange peel.
