Drunken Leprechaun

This Irish whiskey cocktail is delicious, and a perfect St Patrick’s Day cocktail! Even if whiskey is not your usual tipple, I think you’ll be very pleasantly surprised by the rich flavors in this yummy sipping cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 oz Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • 1 oz Guinness Reduction simple syrup
  • 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 1/2 oz Soney Simple Syrup
  • 4 mint leaves

PREPARATION

Guinness Reduction Simply Syrup – Add one can of Guinness Beer and 1/2 cup of sugar to a pot. Bring to a boil and then simmer on low heat until the mixture becomes a thicker consistency and dissolved to about half the amount. This could take 30 minutes. Let it cool and pour it into a glass bottle to store.

Add this mixture and the remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 20-30 seconds or until chilled. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with mint leaves.

These Irish whiskey cocktails are the perfect fit for St Patrick’s Day parties. There is a little prep work necessary, like making honey syrup and Guinness reduction simple syrup, but once you do that you’ll have enough to make 8-10 cocktails.
