Debating on whether you are having Vodka or Rum as your next main nightcap spirit? This cocktail has you covered with this dangerously smooth and delicious cocktail that combines both in one drink. Though made famous by Don the Beachcomber, blending spirits together began long before the advent of the tiki movement. Often, in the pre-Prohibition era, saloon-keepers would marry together dregs of bottles for the sake of economy. Now, throw in some Apricot-flavored Brandy, because the Vodka and Rum wasn’t enough alcohol, to begin with, and you have a frightfully delicious drink.


  • 1 1/2 oz Light Rum
  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz Apricot-Flavored Brandy
  • 1 tsp Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp Grenadine
  • Garnish: Lime twist


Gather all the ingredients into a blender with 1 cup crushed ice and blend until smooth. Pour into champagne flute. Add lime twist and enjoy!
