Cognac Caipirinha

Quick Facts

Cocktail History

Back in 2016, Remy Martin introduced this drink in honor of the 2016 summer games that were taking place in Brazil, putting a unique twist on the country’s national cocktail: the Caipirinha. Cognac is a type of brandy that originated in Cognac, France and has become a part of many high-end cocktails since its invention sometime around the seventeenth century. Caipirinha, on the other hand, is a relatively recent creation from nineteenth century Brazil but has quickly become popular in recent years for its unique citrus sweetness. A Cognac Caipirinha brings these two drinks together to form an interesting contrast between old-world and new-world products, creating a refreshing cocktail is the perfect combination of sweet and tart.
